Dick and I are taking a good old fashion road trip. We will be hitting the road December 8th 2007 and should be back around 16th. This road trip isn’t really going to be old fashion since you can follow along with us on the web. Thats right once again I will be travel blogging. With any luck we will send several updates A day from the road. These updates should include photos and our GPS coordinates. Below is a map of our proposed 3000+ mile route. It may change though.

Update from the road.
We made it back to Columbus. Here are a couple stats. We drove about 3350miles and averaged 35mpg. Thanks again to everyone who let us sleep onthere couches.

Update from the road.
Were on the road again. Texas was great but it rains too much. Sorry about the lack of updates but we have been intwebless for the past couple days. We have changed our plans again. Were skipping Austin and not able to stop in Tulsa OK due to the ice storms they had this week. We plan to spend tonight in Texarkana from there were not sure where we will go. I've heard rumors about snow storms in the north on Sat so we may stay south. The nice thing about Texas is there free wifi at the road side rest.

We made it after about 9 hours of driving. Its so cold here we should havejust stayed in New Orleans. We also may have to change our route back dueto the ice storms in the midwest.

Update from the road.
We made it to Chattanooga TN in about 8 hours. We had minor delays withroad construction in Kentucky. We will be spending the night here with some nice people we met on couchsurfing.com Tomorrow we plan to continue heading south thru Alabama to western Florida. Hopefully we will be ableto find a place to setup camp there there the night. Well it’s a good time to travel down south, especially with the weather up in Erie, poor Dick! Jay, I’m not sure what a Columbus winter is like, but probably the same as PA, minus the lake effect snow. I see you are not stopping in Missouri. Good choice.
One suggestion I have is stopping in Nashville and visiting the Gibson Store & Original Instruments Factory in the big-ass Nashville mall. You can watch them being made.

Not too far from there is the Grand Old Opry and the Opryland Hotel, which has the most gorgeous indoor gardens I have ever seen. If you want to be really touristy, take a flatboat ride inside. Heh.

Dudes, thanks for hanging out with my dogs and playing UNO. Jay Tech, Rikki Derlarken, and Warrior Joe sat around drinking ale, watching fire fight paper, and played some Halo 2. Rikki and Stupid’s combined efforts weren’t enough to take down the mighty Warrior Joe. Maybe next time guys. I am still mad that my 360 died before you got there. We could have played some Gears of War and yelled at little kids while they yelled at you telling you what they want to do to you when you are sleeping or something….
